The Ph.D. program “Economic and Economic Policy Development in the 20th and 21st Centuries” has been developed for students who are interested in a more advanced study and deeper research in economic theory and economic development of major economies and Czechoslovakia / Czech Republic. The study of this program consists in completing subjects from the field of economic theories, modern economic history, economic policy and also those that deal with the philosophical and methodological basis of the social sciences. The aim of the program is to further deepen knowledge of economic history and economics in the broader context of the development of important economic processes and events (especially after 1945). It focuses on the training of scientists and researchers who will acquire deep theoretical knowledge and will be able to apply it in scientific, research, economic or pedagogical practice. The doctoral program focuses primarily on the development of students’ scientific activities through an individual approach and their involvement in domestic and foreign scientific teams. Based on advanced knowledge of economic theories and practice, graduates will be able to explain the main trends in economic development of major countries after 1945, orient themselves in modern economic theory and interpret economic indicators in more detail in the context of long-term development trends. Further, they will be able to recognize the impact of global economic events on economies and economic policy after 1945 using advanced knowledge of macroeconomics or assess the main problems of economic development of communist Czechoslovakia.
